From the Future
Fakes That Abstain
One of the many valuable services rendered by Hollywood is the creation of snazzy movie titles, which in turn can be adopted into catchy if somewhat random magazine headlines. Some titles, for example, become legends in the field, recycled again and again: think of the late '80s and early '90s plague of "Sex, Lies, And Blankety-Blank" headlines, or the endless variations on "Do The Right Thing." ("Do The White Thing"! "Sue The Right Wing"!)
Recently, Women's Wear Daily magazine featured the coverline "Snakeskin On A Plane" for a fashion shoot featuring, yes, snakeskin on, yes, a plane.
Isn't it obvious? The next great bad-pun-headline film title is upon us! Even though this fabled internet phenomenon isn't scheduled to come out for over two months, the deluge of bad-punning headlines has already started.
Naturally, we at Fametracker would like to stoke this trend. Below, please find a selection of possible/predictive/suggested headlines which we expect/hope/fear we'll be seeing soon:
