Bronson Pinchot Has This Thing
Entertainment websites recently posted a curious quote from Alec Baldwin, on his famous Aviator co-star: "Leo DiCaprio has this thing where when he really is concerned about something...he screws up his forehead and it looks like some kind of Chinese or Japanese character on his forehead. You feel like they're gonna put ink on it and stamp it on a piece of paper and [make it] the symbol for anger or something."
What only Fametracker can report, however, is that this wasn't just some odd, random musing, but rather a sneak-peek excerpt from Baldwin's forthcoming Hollywood memoir, Leo DiCaprio Has This Thing: Lessons Learned from a Lifetime Spent Watching the Stars. In the book, Baldwin shares thoughts and observations he's collected while hobnobbing with Hollywood's biggest, and most expressive, celebrities.
In an exclusive deal, Fametracker offers a further peak at this forthcoming book. Here, enjoy ten more quotes from Baldwin on the striking facial contortions and other odd characteristics of the stars he's encountered over the years:
"Keanu Reeves has this thing where, when he's trying to convey surprise and joy, at the same time, his nostrils flare like a double-barreled shotgun, so you'd swear he's about to blast you with buck shot -- or should I say, buck snot. Heh."
"Brad Pitt has this thing where when he's sad, truly sad, the tears pool in his eyes, forming pearls, pearls of glass, pearls so precious you want to harvest them and, I don't know, put them on matching nipple rings."
"Mike Myers has this thing where when he's trying not to laugh -- like he's cracking up in the middle of a scene, which he does a lot, especially if I make this little 'phhhfffttt' noise with my mouth, a kind of farty rasberrry, while he's trying to say his line -- where, in order not to laugh, he bites on one lip so that his mouth curls into this shape that looks exactly like the Korean character for what roughly translates as 'fluidity.'"
"Mira Sorvino has this thing where she opens her mouth and, goddamn, you just want to run."
"Martin Landau has this thing where, when he gets really excited, I mean really worked up about something, his nose whistles Mozart."
"Helen Hunt has this thing where she interlocks her fingers when she gets really anxious, and just squeezes and squeezes, and sometimes they don't come unstuck for days, and she can't clap."
"Julie Delpy has this thing where she just drops off to sleep and I'm like, Frenchie, I'm still talking."
"Ben Affleck has this thing where sometimes he just zones, just stares right off into space, and if you look deep into his eyes at that exact moment you'd swear you can see the opening lines of Martin Chuzzlewit."
"Bronson Pinchot has this thing where, when he's really happy, his eyebrows dance like imps, and I never feel more at peace."
"Anthony Hopkins has this thing where his lips kind of curl into something like a treble clef, like they're going to make music, or they are music, of the sweetest kind. And when he frowns it's a fermata."
