Sela Ward's Other Bad Decisions
How aggressively is Desperate Housewives fever sweeping the nation? Well, with sufficient aggression that Housewives-related events that didn't happen are considered to be newsworthy. For instance, the wire services picked up a story last week about actress Sela Ward, who announced that she had been offered the role of Susan Mayer, which eventually went to Teri Hatcher. Ward vented her rue -- her rue, we tell you! -- to have been so close to a fabulous opportunity and blown it off. But actually, this isn't the first time Ward's shown poor judgment; Ward's crappy instincts have caused her to make quite a few other bad decisions:
Passed on supplemental insurance on rental car
Bought high, sold low
Let her six-year-old pick out her red-carpet outfit
Ran without stretching
Had the trainee wax her eyebrows
Smoked in bed
Waived her salary for The Fugitive in exchange for a guarantee she'd be in the sequel
Turned down Jennifer Aniston's role on Friends
Didn't separate her whites and colours in the laundry room
Taped over her wedding video with a Bold & The Beautiful
Did the crossword puzzle in pen
Measured once, cut twice
Went to the DMV for a new photo without showering
Voted Bush in 2004
Turned down Mel Harris's role on thirtysomething
Left her computer without saving her work
Swallowed her gum
Sent an email without spell-checking it
Ate an egg salad sandwich out of a snack machine
Turned down Joan Collins's role on Dynasty
Didn't peel the price tags off her Christmas gifts before wrapping them
Pierced her tongue
Turned down Barbara Stanwyck's role in The Big Valley
Fired her publicist
