Robert Wuhl
Specialty: Weasels, Sidekicks, and Weaselly Sidekicks

For someone with such a "Hey, It's That Guy!" face, Robert Wuhl has had a surprisingly sparse "Hey! It's That Guy!" career. You think you've seen him in every other movie since about 1984, when in fact his big claims to fame are as Larry, the manager's sidekick in Bull Durham; as Alexander Knox, the meddlesome reporter in Batman; as an Army guy in Good Morning, Vietnam and...well, that's about it. Of course, he is the lead in Arli$$, the overpromoted and underliked HBO series, which lots and lots of people saw ads for but not many people actually saw. So lots and lots of people know Robert Wuhl's face, but most of them would be hard-pressed to pin down exactly what he's famous for. Well, weaselly sidekicks, mostly, especially if it has to do with sports. (Along with Bull Durham and right before Arli$$, Wuhl appeared -- as though doing some sort of sports genre pregame stretches -- in both Cobb and Blue Chips.)

The real miracle is that he somehow managed to parlay this not-that-impressive character actor's career, along with a stint as the lead of a not-well-regarded-nor-much-watched HBO series, into a recurring gig on The New Hollywood Squares. Really, is there any phrase in the English language that's less glamourous than "I'll take Robert Wuhl for the block"? Next to him, Bruce Vilanch looks like Gore Vidal.
